Who We Are
Dory Athey
Program manager, part-time librarian, editor, and river guide. Systems enthusiast. Excited about rivers and spreadsheets.
I have a driving interest in pursuing social equity and environmental vitality through storytelling, harm reduction frameworks, and business models designed to support workers and their communities. I received my B.A. in Literature and Creative Writing from the University of Montana and my M.A. in Publishing from Portland State University.
Since then, I’m happy to have worked in marketing and program management with the dynamite teams at Unlocking Eve, Albina Vision Trust, RAIN Catalysts, Jumpsuit Agency, and Catapult Book Group, among others.
In 2020, I co-founded The Thalweg, a literary and arts journal focused on work at the intersection of livelihood and landscape. Since 2023, I have been delighted to serve the Western Montana community as a member of the Missoula Public Library team—a job that has ignited a renewed interest in working at the intersection of storytelling, shared community space, and public service.
In the summer, I work as a whitewater river guide on the Snake and Salmon Rivers in the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness in Idaho. I’ve been lucky to call Utah, Colorado, Montana, Idaho, Oregon, and Minnesota home.
Elizabeth Ireland
Experienced marketing and communications strategist. Enthusiastic Minnesotan.
At sixteen, I got my dream after-school job slinging books at Barnes & Noble. I haven’t strayed far. Since graduating from the University of Minnesota with a B.A. in English Literature and a concentration in Mass Media Studies in 2013, I’ve been lucky enough to work with the good people at Milkweed Editions, Coffee House Press, Simon & Schuster, and most recently, Catapult, Counterpoint, and Soft Skull. With experience in corporate, independent, and nonprofit publishing, I have a well-rounded view of the industry, seven+ years of marketing and communications experience, and an unflappable midwestern work ethic.
I am not currently taking on new clients.
